In accordance with the Agreement between Organization of School Administrators and Supervisors (OSAS) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.
Position Summary:
The Enrollment Outreach Office seeks a dynamic Enrollment Outreach Specialist to join the team. This individual will play a critical role in recruiting and retaining students in DPSCD schools. Assigned to one area of the city, this person will bring a deep understanding of the school community supporting Detroit families to find their best-fit school. The Enrollment Outreach Specialist will be responsible for a portfolio of schools assisting with the development of targeted goals and developing and implementing strategies to help schools meet and / or exceed stated goals. This position will work closely with several internal and external stakeholder groups to leverage opportunities to align recruitment and retention goals as an integrated focus of their support for their schools. Direct support to families to help them navigate the enrollment process will be a key focus along with supporting and empowering Parent Outreach Coordinators (POCs) to assist in their individual schools daily. Monitoring and reporting regular progress, challenges, and solutions across school portfolios will be expected. The Enrollment Outreach Specialist will also assist with events, regularly organize and participate in targeted neighborhood canvassing while developing a deep understanding of their designated school communities. Relationship building through active participation and representation will be key to the ideal candidates success in this role. Ideal candidates will have experience in community development or organizing, outstanding relationship building skills, excellent compelling communication and customer service skills, strong follow up, and an ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
