Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for all employees. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills and a commitment to data integrity.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain accurate payroll records for all employees, including compensation, deductions, and tax withholdings
  • Prepare and verify payroll data before distribution; reconcile discrepancies and resolve payment issues promptly
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, wage laws, and company payroll policies
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and financial information in accordance with data protection standards
  • Prepare payroll reports and provide documentation for audits, payroll tax filings, and regulatory submissions
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and accuracy
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to integrate payroll data and ensure seamless operations
  • Stay current with payroll compliance requirements and system updates; recommend process improvements
  • Support payroll system administration, including data entry, troubleshooting, and user training

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of payroll processing or related accounting experience
  • Excellent proficiency with payroll software (ADP, Workday, Paycom or similar); Excel expertise required
  • Strong understanding of federal and state payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately with numerical data
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Professional communication skills and ability to interact effectively across departments

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Payroll (CPP) or pursuit of payroll certification
  • Experience with benefits administration or HRIS systems
  • Experience supporting audit preparation and payroll reconciliation
