About Javelin Private Capital Group (“JPCG”)

JPCG is the independent, full-service Investment Banking Advisory group of Javelin Global Commodities. JPCG provides investment banking services to support clients' business objectives including debt and equity capital raising, project finance and restructuring and capital structure advisory. Additionally, JPCG invests Javelin’s capital as part of the merchant banking services it offers clients.

As part of the Javelin Global Commodity platform JPCG is uniquely positioned to provide its clients bulge-bracket-scale investment banking resources and a global footprint, while maintaining a boutique investment bank-style of access to senior advisory professionals and highly tailored service offerings.   The Role

JPCG is recruiting talented associates to join the New York office and to support our growing investment banking practice. Associates will directly support senior bankers and are expected to handle a high level of responsibility in the execution of regular financings, distressed financing and restructuring transactions. Associates work on small deal teams and have direct exposure to clients and senior bankers. Associates bear responsibility for providing the analysis underlying restructuring strategies, coordinating deal teams and developing junior bankers. Associates are expected to embrace a fast-paced environment, a high-level of responsibility and desire to grow their role in the team over time.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, structure and execute corporate finance transactions in the public and private markets, advise clients on debt and equity raises, project financing, restructurings and recapitalizations 
  • Develop financial models, build cash flow projections and perform valuation analyses
  • Lead due diligence processes with the help of analyst colleagues
  • Oversee industry and company research and screenings
  • Prepare presentations and other materials for JPCG and its clients
  • Manage deal teams and analyst workstreams.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment
  • Undergraduate degree from a top-tier institution and stellar academic record
  • Prior experience working at a bulge-bracket, major or boutique investment bank is preferred (prior experience in restructuring, leveraged finance or debt capital markets is ideal)
  • Strong quantitative and financial statement analysis skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg and other financial information tools (e.g., Capital IQ, etc.)
