As a Light Industrial Assembler, you will engage in mechanical assembly tasks, utilizing both hand and air wrenches, and a tape measure. You will be responsible for production assembly, lifting up to 35 lbs, and operating a JIG/man lift to reach up to 4ft for picking parts on shelves. Your duties will include loading and unloading valves into assembly fixtures, transporting valves to workstations, working off blueprints and work instructions, using assembly and torque tools, conducting quality checks, retrieving replacement parts from the stockroom, installing and removing bubble test fittings, and completing paperwork for assembly operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical assembly using hand and air wrenches.
• Utilize a tape measure for precise measurements.
• Engage in production assembly tasks.
• Lift up to 35 lbs as part of assembly duties.
• Operate a JIG/man lift to access parts on shelves up to 4ft high.
• Load and unload valves into assembly fixtures.
• Transport valves to designated workstations.
• Work from blueprints and work instructions accurately.
• Use assembly and torque tools effectively.
• Perform quality checks to ensure product standards.
• Retrieve and manage replacement parts from the stockroom.
• Install and remove bubble test fittings as required.
• Complete necessary paperwork for assembly operations.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in mechanical assembly.
• Experience in production environments.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Competence with tape measures for accurate measurements.
• Familiarity with blueprints and work instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• At least 1 year of recent manufacturing experience, with related experience in the last 3 months.
• Preferred manual assembly experience.
• Experience with air ratchet wrenches, manual wrenches, pliers, and clamps.
• Strong attention to detail.

Work Environment

The work environment is climate-controlled but may be oily due to the nature of the product. The available shifts are 1st shift from 7am to 3:30pm, 2nd shift from 3pm to 11:30pm (with training provided on this shift), and 3rd shift from 11pm to 7:30am. Training is conducted on the first shift for three weeks. Employees are provided with two 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch. The dress code includes wearing khakis, dickies, or blue jeans, with no workout pants. T-shirts are allowed as long as they do not display offensive or derogatory language. Jewelry and watches are not permitted.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of EASLEY, SC.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in EASLEY,SC.
