Your Opportunity

At Stantec, we believe that great design starts with great people. Our Design Visualization Services group blends design, data, and technology to craft meaningful visual stories that communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.

We are seeking a 3D Visualization Specialist to join our growing team of creative professionals. In this role, you’ll help shape how projects are experienced—transforming technical designs into compelling, photorealistic visuals that inform, engage, and inspire.

You will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, planners, and designers to develop high-quality renderings, animations, and interactive experiences for infrastructure, water, environmental services, energy, mining, community development, and architectural projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality 3D models, renderings, animations, and motion graphics for proposals, public outreach, design studies, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Interpret engineering and architectural drawings, BIM models, GIS data, and sketches to develop accurate visualizations.
  • Produce photo-realistic materials, lighting, and environmental effects using industry-standard 3D modeling/rendering software such as 3DStudioMAX, V-Ray, TwinMotion, and Unreal Engine.
  • Support 4D construction sequencing through animations, camera choreography, and timeline visualization.
  • Participate in internal project coordination, reviews, and creative strategy sessions with Senior Visualization Specialists and project team designers.
  • Assist with VR/AR experiences, interactive content, or real-time environments as needed.
  • Maintain organized asset libraries, scene files, and project documentation.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation—testing new workflows, tools, and visualization techniques to improve quality and efficiency across the team.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in 3D Visualization, Computer Graphics, Engineering, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in 3D visualization, preferably in the AEC industry.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk 3D Studio MAX, including data imports, modeling, texturing, camera animation, basic geometry animation, lighting and rendering with Chaos VRAY.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for image editing, compositing, and graphic production
  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects workflows for visualization animation production.
  • Strong understanding of CAD, GIS, and BIM workflows for visualization.
  • Strong understanding of real-time rendering software (Chaos Vantage, TwinMotion, Unreal Engine) and emerging visualization technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large and complex datasets across multiple software environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
